Anna’s Tuin & Ruigte

Anna’s Tuin & Ruigte (ATR) is a permaculture project and living lab of 1 hectare at Amsterdam Science Park.

The ‘Ruigte’ (wilderness) is a natural area with plenty of space for wild plants and animals. In the middle of the wilderness there’s a community garden, a dome from recycled material and a food forests.

ATR is being devolped by a driven group of volunteers. A mix of students, local residents and other garden lovers.

We maintain the land on Wednesday (09:30-13:00) and Sunday (13:00-17:00) and share the harvest at the end. On Thursday evening (19:00-20:30) we learn about permaculture and ecology together during studygroup meetings.

ATR collaborates with the UvA and provides scientists and students space for research and experiments.

And we organize educational activities, such as guided tours, permaculture workshops and pizza events.
